★ 2025 Winter Options (Studless Tires, 4WD, Ski Carrier)★

Currently, winter options such as studless tires, 4WD, and ski carriers are NOT avaialble to request.
Toyota Rent a Car Reservation Center has not yet begun accepting applications for winter option.
This service is expected to become available around late November.
Please note that snow chains are NOT available at any of our rental locations.
1. Winter Option Availability
In some regions, studless tires are included as a standard option at no additional charge.
If you are traveling to these areas, no separate request is necessary.
Please check the list of regions where studless tires are included as standard.
Ski carriers are not available at all locations; fees and availability will be emailed if selected at booking.
2. Necessity of Winter Tires
If you plan to travel to regions in Japan with heavy snowfall, it is recommended to equip your vehicle with winter tires.
However, this depends on the weather and road conditions on the day, so we cannot provide clear instructions in advance.
Please make the decision at your own discretion.
For your reference, you may check last year’s weather conditions.

3. Charges for Studless Tires / 4WD

4. Important Notes When Booking
Reservations made before the winter option period will be confirmed with regular tires.
To request studless tires, please contact us by email (trl_global@toyotarenta.net)
after the winter option period begins (late November onward).
We will check availability and inform you of the result.
Please note that winter tire-equipped vehicles are limited, and adding them to your booking
may NOT be guaranteed.
Studless tire-equipped vehicles are especially limited in Tokyo, Osaka, and regions
with less snowfall such as Kyushu.
We understand that this process may be inconvenient,
and we appreciate your understanding
